The Ellis House Project

The Coalition is proud to share that we will soon be placing a permanent historical marker at the Ellis House in Lincoln, New Mexico.
By marking this location, we ensure its story will not be forgotten. Visitors will forever know the role this house played in shaping the history of Lincoln and the legend of Billy the Kid.
This is why we do what we do—preserving history, one site at a time.
Jose Chavez Project
The grave of Jose Chavez y Chavez had gone unmarked for over a half century, but no more.

James Carlyle Project
The Coalition, Cold West Detective Agency, and The Wild West History Association placed a headstone on Deputy James Carlyle. May he now rest in peace.

The White Oaks Project

Through extensive research of old newspapers, maps, and county tax records, we have reconstructed the once-bustling town, depicting it as it was when Billy the Kid roamed its untamed streets.
Marking Stinking Springs

Billy the Kid's Historical Coalition is proud to announce that a new, permanent marker has been placed at Stinking Springs. This ensures that this legendary site will remain preserved for generations to come.
"Windy" Cahill Project

The Coalition was able to place a headstone for Francis “Windy” Cahill. Cahill’s grave was marked by a lone boulder planted in the hard Arizona dirt on August 19th, 1877.
Tom Pickett Project

We are thrilled to announce that the grave of Tom Pickett, a known associate of Billy the Kid, will finally be marked with a permanent headstone! Billy the Kid’s Historical Coalition is dedicated to promoting and preserving the legacy of all things Billy the Kid, we have raised the funds necessary to give Tom Pickett the recognition he deserves.
Coyote Spring Project

Coyote Springs served as a hideout and holding station for Billy the Kid. Through hundreds of hours of research, we managed to rediscover the location and excavate the site.
